Mechanics' Liens in Connecticut
In Connecticut, a tradesman has 90 days since the last day of appreciable work in furtherance of the project to record a mechanic's lien and has one year from the date of the recording to foreclose upon that lien.
We take prompt action by recording the mechanics' lien as soon as possible and by sending a demand letter outlining our proposed terms of debt repayment. This provides the debtor the opportunity to make satisfactory payment arrangements. If an arrangement is not made promptly, we institute a lawsuit. This entire process takes approximately 45 days, depending on the facts of the case. We accept most of these cases on contingency.
For Prompt Assistance in Collection Matters
If your business works on contract or the extension of credit, prompt debt collection is essential. We can speed the collections process for our clients and we look forward to working with you. Contact us by e-mail or call 203-790-4529 to schedule an appointment.
